Hey Eraser, do you use the baby shampoo because of its apparent neutral PH?
I heard about it and used it for a while until I ran out |

Yeap the neutral PH doesnt wash off all the layers of polish and wax that you spend hours putting on. Cheap as chips to.

I only use meguires. Why?, because for the price it a great product. Its not the best on the market but for the price it still does the part really well.

Ok Guys
I have all the gear still but I have gotten lazy since owning the SSV. Dan from DMS Detailing looks after mine, YAY. I just wash it when i take it out and dry it with my large waffel weave cloths. Then use either dodo or another top shelf spray mist. Rgds Marc |

I thought the idea of washing was to get the dodo off?

Do you use the Dodo Tropical Red Mist? That stuff is great to top up between waxes.
When I get back on my feet, I will put a pic up of my collection LOL.

I wash the car, rince, dry as per usual. Then do the car with the clay followed by a couple of passes with different polishes. Leave for a while then apply 2 coats of sealents (Chemical Guys Jetseal 109), then finally 2 coats of wax (24hr in between coats). Going to strip the lot off and re do it in the coming month, more practice .Also have Autoglym HD wax, quite good to, will use that when the other is done, to get rid of it all LOL. Toooo much wax. |

Do you find the wax finish/depth doesn't last long? Ive noticed layering natural waxes gives a great finish but not long lasting. Probably only a week or so. Is the dodo one a natural or synthetic wax?

It's hard to tell the depth on the Silver cars, but it does leave a nice slick finish. As far as I am aware, it is a Natural wax, with high grade carnauba wax. It is applied very thinly, and left for 1hr then buffed. I quite like it. To me, it has lasted a while, as it still beads nicely when washed, and feels smooth when dried down.
I got it from here http://www.carcareproducts.com.au/pr...supernatural-0 Would like to try this out one day:- http://www.carcareproducts.com.au/pr...ssvax/concorso |

I few years ago i got mine done in this wax http://www.carcareproducts.com.au/pr...x/crystal_rock Pretty sure thats the one. Looked great for about a week. Only ever used budget stuff since and get similar results. Although the expensive ones look great for the first few days they dont seem to last. Ive found that layering a synthetic wax first letting it set for a few days then applying a natural Carnauba wax does a pretty good job.
