Default A Simple Q

Hey Guys,

Quick one for you with VZ's (Ute or Car).

I want to Lower the rear of the ute, BUT, I can not be farked forking out money to Pedders etc to get it done.
So what I want to know is, how simple it is to remove and replace the rear springs? I am getting a bit sick of the arse in the air, as it is hard to see behind lol.

I will purchase the springs myself..

Cheers.

Best people to speak to are KB and Marc (Cygnet)

Both have had lowered VY/VZ utes

Quite easy really, wheel off then take bottom shock bolt out. You may have to drop diff assembly also if the springs are a bit stuburn

Shouldnt take more than 15mins a side. BUT after you get it done you have to get a wheel alignment.

Needs an alignment now as it's pulling hard left. Might aswell get it all done at the same time?

It needs the rear wheels aligned after you lower the back. Put some maloo springs in the back.

pretty quick and easy just remember the lower you go the more CAMBER wear you will get on the inside of the tyres, get yourself a camber kit to help out with that, go see luke at wholesale suspension at penrith, how low do you want to go?

If I went as low as the pic I did, will I still need the Camber done? It's not under guards. Been keeping an eye out on Ebay.

As soon as you touch the rear end you will need the camber done. Have a look at your pic then look at the pics of my ute. Pretty close. Get maloo springs. Im not 100% but being a VZ you have some adjustment in the camber on the rear as long as you dont go silly low.

I've been reading on the net, that people with VZ, don't need to touch the camber, I don't know lol.
Will look into it more, not desperate for it yet............................................... .. YET!

Grrrrr, why did I start modding this .

I just got a quote for the rear springs fitted and all 4 wheels aligned and balanced - $340.00. Does this sound fair? I paid around that price for the VS front, with NO balance and alignment 2 years ago.

camber kits do **** all i got the vz arse end in my ute and its no different to vu or vy once the centre of the diff goes below the centre of your wheel it will start to camber hard. i can get springs n shocks pretty cheap my mate has a shop just cost me 200 bucks all round for the falcon lowered 4 in.
my advice save your money and bag it then if u put weight in the back u can compensate by lifting the bags never have a camber problem again.only way to fix the problem
