Default Dash colour advice

Hey guys
Ive decided to paint the dash facia in my VY a different colour. The standard dark grey just doesn't cut it.

What im looking at is the new holden Voodoo blue
What do you guys think, or will it be too much
If you've ever seen it in real life, its extremely metalic and the pic doesn't do it justice

here's a better one

Personally I have never liked colour changes to dashboards but then again its what you want at the end of the day that makes you happy.

Lets see what others say

I go sick of looking for original VS parts in smick condition, so I ended up doing the whole lot. It actually looks nice.

BUT in saying that, make sure if you DO paint etc, make it so it matches the rest of the car, I notice you have a white ute, maybe a deep red?

I think a deep red is going to be too much on the eye.
Ill be recovering the door panel inserts with some sort of blue material along with door handles and vent surrounds being painted the same voodoo colour

Im not one to keep thinks origionl for long.

my old VT had some sort of red/while thing going and it was too much.
Blue for some reason has always looked good with white for me

Here's the door inserts ill be going with.
They're a blue micro suede

Here's a quick chop remembering that the speedo surround, vents, door handles and door inserts will be done too

I like prefer a stock standard dash. Don't mind seeing some colours but don't think I could ever do it to any car I drive. Not my thing.

It doesnt look bad. But youll have to do something about the gold door handles and air vents on the door trims.
It can look good if you carry it through to the door trims and maybe some seat inserts? Just depends how far you want to go with it. End of the day it doesnt matter what others think, as long as you like it.

Very funny

Come to think of it, if you had a 2 tone VY it would probably suit to paint the top and bottom parts the same as the top and bottom of the exterior

Oh yea, i mentioned that the door handles and vents would be painted too as well as the door inserts

Might also be time to get custom seats done or at least re trimmed

Looking at the photo, i might go with it.
Im buying a second dash facia to paint so that I don't have to take it out of the car to paint and also if for some reason I don't like it, i can put the old one back in

I love the airbrushing effect that looks like panels that have been riveted on.

Got the paint mixed today and I did the steering wheel inserts tonight.

My only problem was the time factor. I ran out of daylight and clear coat doesn't like going on cold. Quick buff brought it back though.

Do you know of any models that came with the fascia in black. That would be way easier as im only painting the outside rails if you know what i mean.

Yea i had it on while i was mucking around out there.

So far I've done door handles, vents, handbrake and steering wheel inserts.

Dash will be the same as the small pic above
It will be black where its black in the centre and blue where its that metallic colour on the outside rails.

The idea of the whole thing blue was just too much

Also thinking about painting the intake when i have a spare weekend
